CBBC reports that five million copies of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix were sold in America on the day of the book's launch, making it the fastest selling book ever. One million copies of J. K. Rowling's fifth book were sold in the UK, more than twice the amount of copies of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban sold in it's first year
Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix has also smashed online records, with Amazon, the online retailer, taking 1.3 million pre-orders for the long-awaited book |
