EDP24 reports that the two 16 year olds involved in the theft of the fifth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, have escaped punishment. Chapters of J. K. Rowling's long-awaited book, released June 21 2003, were found in the car park of Clays Ltd, the UK printer of the Harry Potter books. Donald Parfitt, a 44 year old employee of Clays Ltd, Gary Cox and the two 16 year olds attempted to sell the stolen copies to three UK newspapers. The 16 year olds told Magistrates they "seriously regretted" their actions and admitted to handling stolen goods. Both received absolute discharges

EDP24 also reports that one of the 16 year olds has sent a three page letter of apology to J.K. Rowling
